A brief summary of 37175's time in preservation:

2007 turned out to be a busy year for 37175. After almost a year of inactivity due to being refused access for working parties by the Weardale Railway, 37175 made its 'Great Escape' to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway during May. Many thanks to everyone who came along and volunteered to ensure the loco was ready in time to appear at their excellent diesel gala on 15-17 June.

The loco then moved to the East Lancashire Railway for their diesel gala on 4-8 July and also made appearances on the 18th/19th Aug, bank holiday monday 27th Aug and the 3 day Autumn diesel gala Aug 31-Sep 2.

In mid-september 37175 moved from the ELR to the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway in Scotland and appeared at their autumn diesel gala on saturday 29th and sunday 30th september alongside newly restored classmate 37025.

The final appearances of 2007 for 37175 were on saturday 29th December for the class 37 running day alongside 37025.

The first few months of 2008 saw a lot of 37175's corroded bodywork replaced and the loco appeared at the Spring diesel gala on 26/27 April in a temporary coat of fresh paint for the occasion!

37175 made further appearances at the Autumn diesel gala on the weekend of 27/28 September before being taken taken out of service until the end of 2008 for completion of repairs to the bodywork prior to a full repaint.

A brief outing on 3rd January 2009 saw 37175 take part in the Bo'ness Class 37 running day before heading back into the depot for the hard work to continue.

37175 was purchased from EWS in June 2006 and is owned by Highland Traction with assistance provided by the SRPS Diesel Group
